Day 29: Different

It's truly beautiful autumn weather. Today, we were able to enjoy the sun in the garden once more. While walking across the meadow, I found a few walnuts. Fresh walnuts are a real delight. I started cracking them open and eating them right there. Of course, before enjoying them, you have to peel off the skin, so I spent nearly a quarter of an hour on just one nut. Every now and then, I would look up and watch the ravens strutting around the meadow.

In the afternoon, we learned how to make straw stars. I was completely amazed by the variety of different stars that are possible. Each one turned out different.

Oh, and how much more does this apply to us as humans! Each of us is different from the other. No two are alike. We look different, think, feel, and act differently. And no matter what we do, we can never please everyone. We can't be liked by everyone, nor can we always understand each other.

It’s quite a challenge to accept everyone just as they are. To let them be and appreciate them, even when they are very different from me.

But it becomes easier when I can accept that I am not perfect. When I can integrate this fact positively into my being, it becomes easier for me to respect others with their imperfections as well. Unfortunately, this is easier said than done.
